What is your key mission?To ensure that we in HR play the role of a business partner, providing a professional HR service and assist the business to meet its objectives. In order to achieve this we have to ensure that we have a good understanding of the business in general. What would you describe as being your biggest challenge?What would you describe as being your biggest challenge?Retention of staff and in order for us to ensure that we are successful when it comes to ensuring that staff Love It Here. In order to meet this objective both Line Mangers and HR need to be aligned. We have to ensure that career development which includes succession planning becomes entrenched in how we manage our resources granting them opportunities for growth. What is Schneider Electric’s contribution to social development?We have embarked on a global social development project called BIPBOP which focuses on giving people at the bottom of the pyramid access to safe electricity and also assist them to acquire electrical competencies and start developing their ability to work and generate an income. We have started training individuals from poor communities as Wiremen, Technicians and Engineers. This project is one way of combining growth opportunities and sustainable development of skills which today is a huge challenge. What advice do you have for prospective employee’s seeking to join Schneider Electric?If you are looking for a career then this is the place to be. In the 2 years that I have been with the Company, I have seen a good few people leave the organization and have returned within a space of one month for some and others after a few months. This surely tells us that we are doing something right here.
