Another Initi@tive event just ended with great success!

More than 2,400 customers, including 600 distributors, universities and media, visited the Jiuhua Resort in north Beijing for Initi@tive Solution Day 2009 (Feb 25 to 26).

The event began with a dynamic opening session where loud drums introduced Guy Dufraisse, China country manager, to more than 3,000 people.

The plenary conference featured discussions where renowned economists and notable TV personalities, along with Guy Dufraisse, addressed today’s hottest topics.

A learning experience like no other

Guests had access to 4,000 square meters exhibition space, featuring 100 booths full of products and solutions, some publicly displayed for the first time. There were also 3 demo centres and 69 conferences to choose from.

At the Gala Dinner, Noël Girard, Schneider Electric China Strategic Marketing Vice-President, congratulated the winner of the Schneider Electric Cup contest and highlighted the need for simple, innovative solutions: "We need simple solutions. We need to be able to control our energy as easily as we are able to control an iPod. And this requires not only new thinking, but also new behaviour and new investments. This is where Schneider Electric comes in."

 

Schneider Electric holds China’s first energy efficiency contest for universities  The first contest of its type called "Schneider Electric Cup" took place during the event. The contest was designed to inspire university students to think creatively, and demonstrate their innovation in developing more efficient energy consumption. More than 100 entries were received, dealing with industry, agriculture, lighting, residential, buildings and energy management sectors. Out of these entries, 17 were selected. The participants were able to demonstrate their ideas with actual equipment and present their project live, to a panel of external judges during the event.
