Retrofit/ Modernisation

In addition to supporting all installed equipment, Schneider Electric provides specialist recommendations for the upgrading of existing equipment, (retrofitting), or the replacement of existing solutions with new equipment, once it has reached end of it's useful life.

(Retrofitting is the process whereby existing switchboards are refurbished and new equipment is fitted.)

The retrofitting of switchboards offers significant advantages to operations. A retrofit can extend the useful life of existing switchgear, previously thought to be old technology or obsolete.

This provides major financial savings when compared to purchasing and installing entirely new switchboards.

 
All retrofitted breakers are tested to the highest standards, ensuring that the quality conformity is equivalent to newly manufactured products.

All upgrading and adaptation is conducted in a well-equipped facility, only once accurate assessments have been performed by a professional group of design specialists and consultants.

Through working closely with the SABS NETFA (National Electrical Test Facility), type testing is performed where necessary to IEC and SABS specifications. All equipment tested at this facility is sold with SABS certification.
